What does UK Find a Tender / Contracts Finder return?
Official fields: (checked live, OCDS 1.1) release: ocid; id; date; tag; description; initiationType; tender; parties; buyer; awards (on award notices). tender: id; title; status; classification; mainProcurementCategory; description; lots; items; procurementMethod; tenderPeriod; awardPeriod; documents; submissionMethod; selectionCriteria. parties: name; id; identifier; address; contactPoint; roles (buyer, supplier and others).
What can you derive from it?
1. Live demand: open UK tenders in a portco's CPV codes with deadlines from tenderPeriod. 2. Award winners: supplier parties on award releases need to deliver and may buy tools or subcontract. 3. Buyer contact: contactPoint gives a named route into the buying team. 4. Recurring needs: the same buyer retendering a category shows renewal cycles. 5. Competitor footprint: competitor names in supplier roles across buyers.
How would a GTM team use it?
1. Revenue trigger: alert when a UK public body publishes a tender or pipeline notice in the portco's category. 2. Buyer map: list SMEs that won public contracts this quarter as prospects for delivery tooling or finance. 3. Competitive watch: track competitor awards and contract values. 4. Market map: size UK public demand by CPV and region. 5. Partner play: approach large award winners about subcontracting for portcos that cannot bid directly.
What are the caveats?
Not a native Clay integration as of 2026-10-17 (checked against Clay's integrations catalog). Can be called through Clay's HTTP API column where an API exists. Causality: external source; shows a notice was published, not the reason or final spend. Coverage: since the Procurement Act 2023 took effect (February 2025) Find a Tender is the central platform for most notices, while Contracts Finder holds lower-value and legacy notices; older and newer notice types differ; values and supplier identifiers are not always filled. Awards were not present in the sampled release, so award fields follow the OCDS standard rather than a live check.
