What does UK Companies House return?

Official fields: (company profile) company_name; company_number; company_status; company_status_detail; type; subtype; jurisdiction; date_of_creation; date_of_cessation; sic_codes; registered_office_address; accounts; confirmation_statement; has_charges; has_insolvency_history; has_been_liquidated; previous_company_names; links. Plus officer appointments and resignations, PSC records, charges, filing history items and insolvency cases from their endpoints.

What can you derive from it?

1. New leadership: officer appointments show a new finance or commercial director. 2. Change of control: new PSC records after a deal indicate an ownership change, often a PE buyout. 3. New debt: a new charge shows fresh financing. 4. Size change: accounts filings and accounts type show movement between size bands. 5. Distress: insolvency history or overdue accounts flag risk.

How would a GTM team use it?

1. Revenue trigger: reach UK accounts within weeks of a new CFO or CRO appointment. 2. PE screen: filter by SIC code, age and accounts type to build UK add-on lists. 3. Buyer map: list current directors and PSCs for each target account. 4. Competitive watch: stream filing events for competitors and alert on charges, new officers or ownership changes.

What are the caveats?

Not a native Clay integration as of 2026-10-17 (checked against Clay's integrations catalog). Can be called through Clay's HTTP API column where an API exists. External observation: shows that something changed, not why. Small companies file abbreviated or micro-entity accounts, so revenue is often absent. Filings lag events by up to the statutory deadlines. Data is self-reported and lightly verified. UK only.
