What can you derive from it?

1. Supplier concentration: share of a US importer's shipments from its top supplier or country, which flags tariff and single-source risk. 2. Volume momentum: compare TEU or shipment count over the last 12 months with the prior 12 to find importers that are scaling or shrinking. 3. New lane or supplier: a first shipment from a new supplier or port signals a sourcing change and a buying window for logistics, QA and trade finance. 4. Competitor sourcing map: list every US buyer of a given supplier to see who shares a competitor's factory base. 5. Product-level TAM: rank US importers by HS code to size a category and find who imports what a client sells or services.

How would a GTM team use it?

1. PE screen: pull US importers in a target HS code with 12-month TEU growth above a threshold and cross-check supplier count for resilience. 2. Revenue trigger: for a 3PL, customs broker or trade finance client, launch outreach when an importer's monthly shipments jump or a new supplier country appears. 3. Competitive watch: snapshot a competitor's supplier list monthly and alert on new factories or lost ones. 4. Diligence: verify a target's claimed supplier base, shipment trend and customer list (via export BOLs) before an LOI. 5. Buyer map: for a manufacturer selling into the US, list importers of comparable HS codes with contact info flags as an account list.

What are the caveats?

Not a native Clay integration as of 2026-10-17 (checked against Clay's integrations catalog). Can be called through Clay's HTTP API column where an API exists. Covers US ocean import bills of lading, US export BOLs and Mexico import and export customs declarations; air, rail and truck freight are not included, so a company with no sea freight looks empty. Shippers can request manifest confidentiality, which masks names (company_manifest_confidentiality and supplier_manifest_confidentiality flags). TEU, container counts and weight measure volume, not revenue or margin. Product descriptions are free text from the manifest and HS codes can be missing or wrong. Arrival dates lag sailing by weeks. Contact fields are enrichments; verify before outreach. Third-party Apify scrapers of ImportYeti exist but are not affiliated. No Clay provider sells customs data.
