What does ADS-B Exchange return?
Official fields: hex; type (data source such as adsb_icao, mlat, tisb_icao, mode_s); flight; r (registration); t (ICAO type); dbFlags (bits: military 1, interesting 2, PIA 4, LADD 8); alt_baro; alt_geom; gs; ias; tas; mach; track; track_rate; roll; mag_heading; true_heading; baro_rate; geom_rate; squawk; emergency; category (A0 to D7); nav_qnh; nav_altitude_mcp; nav_altitude_fms; nav_heading; lat; lon; nic; rc; seen_pos; version; nic_baro; nac_p; nac_v; sil; sil_type; gva; sda; alert; spi; mlat; tisb; messages; seen; rssi.
What can you derive from it?
1. Corporate aircraft movements: join registration to the FAA registry to see where a company's jet flies, a weak signal for site visits, deal talks or new facilities. 2. Operator utilisation: flight hours per tail for charter, fractional and cargo operators. 3. Airport activity: movements per airport by category for FBO and ground-services demand. 4. Fleet changes: new tails appearing under an operator's callsign prefix.
How would a GTM team use it?
1. PE screen: track aircraft tied to target companies and flag unusual city pairs ahead of announcements. 2. Revenue trigger: for an MRO or FBO client, alert when a registered operator starts flying a new route into their airport. 3. Market map: operators by fleet size and type at an airport. 4. Diligence: confirm claimed fleet utilisation for an aviation target from daily positions.
What are the caveats?
Not a native Clay integration as of 2026-10-17 (checked against Clay's integrations catalog). Can be called through Clay's HTTP API column where an API exists. ADS-B Exchange does not filter LADD or PIA aircraft (they are only flagged in dbFlags), so tracking private owners raises privacy and reputational risk; keep use to companies and operators. Ownership needs a join to the FAA registry and is often masked by trusts and LLCs. Coverage depends on volunteer receivers. A flight proves movement, not a deal.
